The Surabaya Born Musician has been recognised both nationally and internationally for his extraordinary trumpet skills and one of a kind voice. His showmanship is always a magnet to the audience and his audience is his musical playground.

Born and Raised by a family of trumpeters, Rio has been playing since the age of 8 years old. With his brother and younger sister, Rio is the third generation playing the trumpet after his Grandfather and Mother. His Grandfather Daryono played with legendary jazz musicians such as Bubi Chen and Maryono. He got his first break when Bubi Chen asked Rio to perform with him at the tender age of 13.

Rio has performed in many Jazz Festivals throughout Indonesia. He has appeared with Indra Lesmana, Bubi Chen and the Erwin Gutawa Orchestra. He has collaborated with Maurice Brown and Incognito at the Bali Like International Jazz Festival 2014.

Rio describes his music as “good music” and to do date he has been invited to numerous overseas show in Australia, Malaysia, Africa, Portugal, Spain, UK, Rusia and South Korea. Rio Sidik is the first Indonesian trumpeter to release his album in a double format; Live Recording Audio and Video. The first Single “If’ is a ballad song of a failed love story.

Rio doesn’t want to categorise his music as a specific genre, when asked about his album #TheSoundOfMysticalVibe, he mentioned that it’s an energy and process of his life and musical career. And with this album we expect to add color and vibrance to the Indonesian music scene.
