BluesMates consists of Novan Hardison and Rio Fredic. These two guys formed the band 8 years ago and managed to be among the winners in one of the best national contests, Rising Star Indonesia, in 2014. The band also successfully delivers blues as a genre of music to the audience with various social backgrounds. This is achieved by tackling dozens of challenges that requires a great music arrangement skill. The panelist of the contest just got no other choise other than voting for YES.
The band is based in Surabaya. Now, BluesMates has become well-known not only in their hometown, but also many other cities in Indonesia.
BluesMates plays mostly a modern Blues Rock music and was influenced by many titles of similar genre in the 60s to 70s. Some role examples from the era are legendary musicians and bands such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Black Crowes.
“Come and Shake Your Body” BluesMates’ first album, was released in 2017. “Jakarta” was the first single in this album. The song tells a story of a struggle of achieving dream in the capital city. In 2014, BluesMates ever released a debut Blues Rock song entitled “Let Me In”.
